The idea for construction of Swami Vivekananda Auditorium & Seminar Hall was conceived by Late Swami Nityananda, the founder of Ramakrishna Vivekananda Mission as the permanent memorial to Swami Vivekananda to propagate the message as propounded by Thakur Sri Ramakrishna and Swami Vivekananda.
The Auditorium was formally inaugurated by Sri Pranab Kumar Mukherjee, Honorable Former President of India on Saturday,the 3rd march,2018 at 12-30 p.m with the gracious presence of some eminent dignitaries.
There is one Auditorium & another Seminar Hall which are under the control of RKVM situated at Agarpara Campus on the B.T.Road. Both the Auditorium & the Seminar Hall are Air Conditionedand equipped with silent generator set to be provided during power off. The Auditorium is situated at ground floor and the Seminar Hall is situated at 1st floor.
Sitting accommodation of the said Auditorium is 700 (approx.) &the capacity of Seminar Hall is about 200 (approx.) without chair and used for holding meetings/seminars/workshops/exhibition etc.organised by RKVM only. The Auditorium is brilliantly decorated, illuminated and equipped with modern acoustics system. Various cultural functions like Dance,Drama,Vocal and Instrumental music etc.are organised here on payment of reasonable charge as fixed by the authority for different cultural activities.
